Air Conditioner

A central air conditioner is your home's primary air conditioning source. It works by drawing in air through an opening in the wall called an air intake. This air passes through the compressor and is cooled by the condenser coil.

The cooled air passes through the fan coil, which moves the air across the outdoor unit into the outside of your house. This helps to cool the home. The cooled air is pushed back through the air handler and into the building. A cooling tower removes heat from the air pushed through and outside the house.

There are two types of air conditioners, a central air conditioning unit and a split system. If you have a central air conditioning unit, you have a large unit that can be placed outside your house. You can place a large air conditioner in your attic and run ducts in your basement with a split system.

Condenser

The condenser is usually located outside your house. It is made up of several different parts. If it is damaged, you will have to replace it. The parts include a fan motor, a coil, and a fan. To keep the condenser clean, you must remove the fan dirt.

Compressor

This mechanical device creates low pressure that turns the refrigerant gas into a liquid and pushes the gas out of the compressor. The compressor is the pump that moves the air through your ducts. When the compressor is on, you will hear it humming. If you turn on the fan, you will hear a whirring noise.

Evaporator

The evaporator is also known as the cooling coil. It gets its name from the process that it uses. The evaporator does not transfer heat to the air. Instead, it pulls water vapor out of the air. The evaporation process causes the water vapor to turn back into a liquid form, which makes it much colder than the surrounding air. The temperature drops when the vapor comes into contact with the liquid water. It is this temperature drop that causes the air to cool.

Blower

This is a fan-shaped device that moves air around. The next part is the condenser. This is where the cold air is collected. This is usually installed outdoors, near the building's exterior. The next component of the system is the evaporator. This is a coil that allows warm air to pass through it. The warm air becomes cold and dries out the moisture in the air. The final component is the filter.

You can buy a new furnace or install a new system in your home. A furnace can run either on propane or electricity.

Thermostat

A thermostat determines the temperature and humidity of your home at all times. When you first purchase your home, it will likely have an existing thermostat installed. You can change the old one for the new one. Once your home is installed with an installed thermostat, it should work correctly without problems. Most thermostats come with instructions for adjusting the thermostat once it is installed. You can check if you have a programmable thermostat by following the instructions with your thermostat.

Humidifier

A humidifier uses the process of evaporation to remove moisture from the air. It usually consists of a reservoir with a wick extending out of the pool. A humidifier is a device that makes sure you have enough water in your air. You may think you only need a room dehumidifier, but that is false. A humidifier ensures you have the right moisture level to keep the air clean and healthy.
